Review for Notecard Confession:
This week we made notecard confessions. Basically you tell a story through little sentences wrote on individual notecards and then you video yourself flipping through them. I have seen these a lot of Facebook, but I had never thought of using them to make informational material to use in the classroom. I thought this was a neat idea that students could do themselves also. Teachers could use it like mine, to introduce a person, place or idea to students. Students could also make them as a reflection of what they have learned from researching a specific topic. The topic could be something that you have assigned or something that they have chosen for themselves to research. Personally, I chose to do a little biography about Abraham Lincoln with facts about him without saying his name and then revealing who it was at the end. I first picked this topic and then searched for an autobiography- something that came straight from him. Then I read through it and took out what I wanted to put on my notecards. I then wrote little blurbs on notecards. I used my MacBook and Quicktime Player to record a video of me flipping through the cards with enough time to be able to read them. I then imported the video into iMovie and added an mp3 of piano music to it. Then I added it to YouTube. It was really easy to do and iMovie is simple to use so it was pretty seamless. You can check out the notecard confession that I made this week below!
